AgroDigital: Sustainability and geomatic and topographic technologies in today’s agriculture

Empleaverde+ program

“AgroDigital” offers a response to the current challenges of the agricultural sector in Spain, particularly in the implementation of sustainable practices and the integration of advanced digitalization technologies in farm management. This project addresses critical issues such as the inefficient use of water resources, soil degradation, and the need for greener production, which affect both the environmental sustainability and economic viability of rural communities.

Spain, with an extensive agricultural area, is presented as a key scenario for the implementation of innovative and sustainable practices. “AgroDigital” is aligned with the BIO5 axis of the Empleaverde+ call, which emphasizes the need to move towards sustainable agriculture that integrates digitalization with geospatial technologies to improve the efficiency and sustainability of agricultural practices.

The application of sustainable agricultural techniques and efficient resource management are essential for this transition. In this context, “AgroDigital” incorporates advanced technologies such as drones, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), essential for the monitoring and optimization of agricultural production. These tools allow for better planning of farms, facilitating the management of water resources and the conservation of soil and necessary inputs.
