The general objective of the project is clearly aimed at promoting women’s participation in the field of green employment in rural areas, but it is an inclusive project that aims to work with all the people in the rural community, especially the most vulnerable.
The specific objectives outlined are the following:
1. To improve the green skills and knowledge of people living in rural municipalities with university degrees who work or are working in the sectors of communication, education, dynamization and participation actions.
2. To improve the green skills and knowledge of people living in rural municipalities for the agricultural sector, ecological restoration
.
3. Improve the skills of rural women workers in green sectors, empowering themselves as role models and ambassadors.
4. Create a community of practice for exchange between rural regions with a focus on green women entrepreneurs.
5. Accompany and mentor those who want to advance and deepen green jobs in rural areas as multiplier agents within the context of Adaptation to Climate Change.
To achieve the objectives, a series of activities are proposed that are fully linked to the specific objectives and are summarized below. All the activities are linked to the Ecological Restoration axis, which will promote employment in rural regions by restoring the connectivity and functionality of the most degraded ecosystems, through nature-based solutions and working on agroecological processes, guiding and accelerating the just ecological transition of the regions:
TRAINING
ACTIONS 5 training lines are carried out in each of the 3 Spanish rural regions, including working and unemployed participants, so they translate into 27 training actions. A total of 240 participants will improve their skills during the trainings, of which 60% will be women.
1) Training for people with higher academic education working in the green sector.
2) Training for workers in the agriculture, gardening and forest regeneration sector.
COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
1) Community action through the EMPODERA
Online Platform A digital platform will be developed where members can exchange experiences, access educational resources and collaborate on projects.
2) Meeting and Networking
A national meeting to facilitate networking, the exchange of good practices and collaboration between rural people and other key actors in the green sector. These meetings will have as ambassadors and protagonists women who work in rural environments in the green sector.
ACCOMPANIMENT AND MENTORING
An accompaniment and mentoring action will be carried out in each of the participating Spanish rural regions.
