The objective of Emprende Ecoturismo is to promote and promote economic development linked to sustainability criteria in the Canary Islands. The project aims to strengthen the business fabric of the tourism sector and publicize the possibilities of green entrepreneurship in the hotel industry to the main recipients, through different actions, with the priority vocation of service to favor and strengthen the employability of workers in the region.

The objective of Emprende Ecoturismo is to promote and promote economic development linked to sustainability criteria in the Canary Islands. The project aims to strengthen the business fabric of the tourism sector and publicize the possibilities of green entrepreneurship in the hotel industry to the main recipients, through different actions, with the priority vocation of service to favor and strengthen the employability of workers in the region.

The purpose of Emprende Ecoturismo is to create and promote new jobs and new lines of business in existing companies belonging to the tourism sector, which reduce the environmental impact, increasing the skills and qualification of workers according to global sustainability criteria.

The recipients are entrepreneurs and workers in the tourism and hotel sector of the Canary Islands (SMEs, micro-SMEs and the self-employed). In addition, the project’s actions will also be aimed at unemployed people belonging to these sectors in crisis with potential employability in the tourism sector.

The results of the project, which will reach 195 workers, include the training of 50 recipients, the creation of 2 companies linked to sustainable tourism and the opening of 4 new lines of business linked to sustainable tourism in existing companies.
