OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is to promote employability and satisfy an incipient professional demand through the training of professionals in sustainable construction techniques.
DESCRIPTION: Currently, the future of the construction sector is based on rehabilitation and sustainable building. In Spain there are more than 26 million homes, almost 50% of which require rehabilitation. Furthermore, according to the UN, construction is one of the sectors with the greatest environmental impact, since it causes 30% of CO2 emissions, generates 40% of solid waste, consumes 40% of energy, as well as 12% of water and 12% of land, and 1/3 of the materials come from the natural environment. By virtue of the above considerations, it is necessary to transform the current model of the construction sector with a new, more sustainable and efficient approach, more aware of current social needs and social responsibility.
In this sense, a face-to-face training action is proposed, aimed at unemployed professionals in the construction sector, with the objective of updating their knowledge and improving their employability. In addition, a job and employer pool will be created to facilitate the visibility of the students with companies and improve employment opportunities.
