Training project under the framework of biodiversity conservation with the aim of improving the skills and qualifications of workers in responsible trade, production and consumption, based on the sustainable management of the supply chains of natural forest resources for the just transition to a low-CO2 economy.
In the different training actions, the legislation in force for the regulation of the marketing of wood products, traceability and transparency, the chain of custody, the capacity for safe and local forest supply, brand positioning and the corporate strategy for local trade models, sustainable production and consumption will be presented. To this end, PEFC Spain will train in the latest developments in the European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) and due diligence implementation tools (DDS), to minimise the risk of placing illegally harvested timber on the market.
ONLINE AND FACE-TO-FACE TRAINING ACTIONS:
– Face-to-face training courses: Networking, sustainable production and trade of the forest’s natural resources
Management tools such as forest certification and their implication in the policies and strategies of organizations in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility will be presented. The main objective is to promote the implementation of sustainability criteria in the production and trade of forest products, as well as the improvement of ecosystem services. These two courses will take place in Seville and Madrid, on September 29, 2021 and April 28, 2022.
– Online training courses: Keys to developing sustainable supply chains for forest products
The keys to the development of sustainable supply chains of natural forest resources will be facilitated, analysing successful experiences and delving into practical aspects. To this end, the news of the chain of custody regulations and the current legislative framework for the marketing of wood products will be announced. Techniques for enhancing the value of safe and local forest supply chains, improving the positioning of companies through the development of corporate strategies that include models of local commerce, production and sustainable consumption will be shown. These courses will be aimed at interested people from the Autonomous Communities of Aragon, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Valencian Community, Community of Madrid, Asturias, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Extremadura, La Rioja, Murcia, Navarra, Andalusia and the Basque Country.
All training actions will last 6 hours.

All employees or those in the value chain of the private forestry sector or the public administration, first and second processing, distribution and marketing industry, prescribers, consultancy and training entities or professionals who wish to expand their skills in the field of forest sustainability through PEFC certification resident in the Autonomous Community of each action.
