OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is to train for the interpretation of natural heritage in Geoparks, to promote green entrepreneurship linked to Spanish Geoparks and to qualify participants for professional development as nature guides and interpreters.
THEME: The theme of the project will be sustainable tourism.
DESCRIPTION: The project consists of carrying out training activities in each Unesco Global Geopark in Spain (12 at present). These courses are proposed for the unemployed, mainly for women and young people, seeking to qualify them to perform the functions of guides and interpreters of the natural heritage in Geoparks, as a tool or measure to strengthen the local business fabric. Geoparks tend to be areas where depopulation and the consequent lack of business networks are on the rise. Therefore, these territories, protected and sponsored by Unesco, are a place where the opportunity arises to create a battery of training actions aimed at entrepreneurship and professional training around the natural heritage (geological and biological) and its interaction with human beings. For this purpose, Natures proposes a training action linked to geotourism in Geoparks where all the aspects by which Geoparks are defined are taken into account: geology, sustainability-responsibility and human beings.
The project will have an impact on the Natura 2000 Network.
