ICT-SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Empleaverde program

OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is the green technological training of workers and self-employed workers in the tourism sector of the east of Almeria and Murcia to improve their professional profile and employment conditions while promoting the transition to sustainable tourism business models.

THEME: The theme of the project is sustainable tourism.

DESCRIPTION: The massive uncontrolled tourist development of sun and beach in the coastal area of the east of Almeria and Murcia has a great negative impact on the environment (especially in Natura 2000) and on employment (low quality and wages).

The low qualification and specialisation of the sector makes it difficult to implement smart business models, comprehensive sustainable tourism management and the deseasonalisation of the activity.

ICT Sustainable Tourism acts to improve the professional profile:

1. Training in technology to improve efficiency in the use of natural resources (75 people).

2. Specialisation of staff in new jobs in order to reduce the environmental impact of tourism through the application of management systems based on social responsibility and implementation of technologies to involve tourists in sustainability (90 people).

3. Face-to-face training for the creation of sustainable tourism business models applying ICT in key areas (50 people).

4. Advice on the practical implementation of ICT tools in the workplace (25 people).
