OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is to promote job creation in priority groups in rural areas with difficulties in accessing employment, through the acquisition of new skills and knowledge on renewable energies in rural areas.
THEME: The theme of the project will be renewable energies.
DESCRIPTION: This project aims to carry out a training program for the acquisition of skills to facilitate access to employment for unemployed people in rural areas in the field of renewable energies, thus promoting a green economy in regions where access to the labor market presents greater difficulties due to the special characteristics of rurality.
This training program arose from a needs analysis carried out within the framework of a European Erasmus project, which analyzed the current situation and existing opportunities in relation to rural employment based on renewable energies. This European project called Innovative Practices in Renewable Energies to Improve Rural Employability (20141ES01KA203004740), in which universities and other organizations from Hungary, Romania and Spain participated, shows in its final report IN2RURAL Final Evaluation Report, that an adequate training in renewable energies that takes into account the peculiarities of rural areas and that focuses specifically on providing solutions in this field, can be a driver of employment and new business opportunities. Therefore, the EMPLEA2R training program will focus on the participants acquiring specific and concrete competencies on renewable energies applied to the rural environment. Therefore, the course syllabus will be an innovative syllabus based on the professional experience of the Low Carbon Economy Foundation and the companies that are part of the Board of Trustees. Thus, this course will be based on a number of real best practices to provide a realistic perspective and train participants through case studies that have already been carried out.
Finally, it should also be noted that this project includes socially disadvantaged people among the target group, and therefore the Red Cross will support the project through subcontracting for the recruitment of the target group and the organization and delivery of part of the training.
In order to ensure that the project reaches the target groups, meetings were held during the identification and design phase with institutions present in rural areas, such as local governments and educational centers at different levels (especially secondary schools and vocational training centers).
Prioritizing the sustainability of the project over time, we have sought its alignment with the mission and vision of the applicant, which enhances the generation of synergies and complementarity with the different lines of work and the network of contacts of the LowCarbonEconomy Foundation. In addition, EMPLEA2R is oriented towards the creation of local capacities that will remain in place even after the funding has ended, promoting that the knowledge generated remains installed in rural areas and contributes to the fixation of the population in the medium term.
Finally, in reference to policies and plans, both renewable energies and the maintenance of the rural population are priority axes at regional, state and European level, which will contribute to reinforce the impact of the positive effects of the project.
