Local resources and almost zero consumption

Empleaverde program

PROJECT NAME: Local resources and near-zero consumption: environmental axes of new skills in the construction industry.

OBJECTIVES: The project aims to improve the qualification of workers linked to the construction industry that stimulate change in construction processes towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly model, through the use of local resources and energy efficiency in new buildings and in rehabilitation techniques in urban environments.

THEMES: The environmental issues addressed by the project are rehabilitation and sustainable building, energy saving and efficiency and sustainable forest management.

DESCRIPTION: Energy efficiency and sustainability must be established as fundamental values for the sector and become hallmarks of companies, requiring workers to adapt professionally to the model required by this approach.

In the geographical environment of the project, three major challenges have been identified for this new sustainable construction model:

– Increase in the use of locally extracted and manufactured materials that minimize the environmental impact of transport and favor the development of the local economy.

– Greater use of wood, as an example of a renewable material with a low environmental impact.

– Generation of sustainable urban environments that reduce the energy expenditure of large volumes.
