The CONETIC initiative arises with the aim of taking advantage of the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to promote sustainability in its triple aspects: economic, social and environmental.

The CONETIC initiative arises with the aim of taking advantage of the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to promote sustainability in its triple aspects: economic, social and environmental.

The aim is to commit to this emerging sector in a way that contributes to the improvement of productivity, competitiveness and sustainability in our country, through an ICT-Sustainability strategy. For this reason, the ETICS project is committed to promoting and supporting ICT entrepreneurship for the creation and consolidation of new business activities or new lines of business in the sector, which contributes to the triple bottom line of sustainability, that is:

• On the economic side, promoting ICT in improving the efficiency and competitiveness of companies; reducing the expenses of public administrations and improving the quality of the services they provide to citizens.
• On the environmental side, since the generalization of ICT in the management of energy production, transport and consumption produces efficiency improvements that are very favorable for the reduction of greenhouse gases.
• On the social side, since ICTs contribute to job creation and favour the generation of services in new areas demanded by society.

It is intended, therefore, that the target group of the project, made up mostly of technicians and professionals from the ICT sector and ICT professionals from Spanish SMEs, improve their professional skills to seek professional alternatives through business entrepreneurship.

In addition, it seeks to take advantage of the business opportunities associated with the incorporation of sustainability into the goods and services model of companies and public administration through ICTs.

ETICS is mainly aimed at recipients with entrepreneurial potential. Specifically, the vast majority of the recipients will be technical staff, self-employed professionals and employees of companies linked to the ICT sector, as well as ICT technical staff of SMEs with entrepreneurial potential in the target communities of the project.

The expected results are:

• Training of 200 recipients, although the initiative will reach a total of 695 workers.
• Creation of 18 new companies or new lines of business in existing ICT companies aimed at supporting the sustainability of the economy.
• An increase of 10-15% in ICT companies that incorporate business lines linked to promoting economic sustainability.
