The initiative was born in order to promote agroecological production as an alternative to conventional agriculture, through the implementation of training courses on the agroecological management of natural resources.
It is also intended to revalue traditional peasant knowledge, facilitate the creation of new agroecological farms and the conversion of some of the existing ones. All this in order to dynamize the short circuits of marketing agroecological products.
The project is aimed at workers in the agricultural sector, as well as active workers residing in rural areas, who carry out their activity in production sectors related to agricultural activity. Attention will be paid to the incorporation into the project of young active workers, women, and the immigrant population.
The project will consist of actions aimed at:
- To achieve a more sustainable management of pre-existing agricultural farms.
- To achieve the conversion of already active farms to organic farming.
- Create new organic agricultural production companies.
- To boost local marketing, and short marketing channels for agricultural products.
- Recover, systematize, and evaluate traditional local knowledge related to sustainable management of natural resources.
