AXIS: Improvement
LINE: Empleazul
OBJECTIVE
The project seeks to support workers in the coastal salt flats, improving their adaptation to the labor market and increasing their skills in issues demanded by the blue economy. All this with the aim of guaranteeing the maintenance of employment and allowing their professional progression, while preserving areas of very high value of the Natura 2000 Network.
DESCRIPTION
The project aims to improve and promote the sustainability of economic activities linked to coastal salt areas, promoting the integration of biodiversity in management and business processes, and the transition to a circular and low-carbon economy.
On the other hand, it is intended to show the potential of the coastal lagoons of the Natura 2000 Network, their Habitats of Community Interest and their Ecosystem Services to generate quality blue employment.
In the salt flats, salt extraction has traditionally been the only service exploited. When the sector entered into crisis, those salt flats that diversified their uses, exploited a greater variety of ecosystem services and created synergies with other companies and sectors, establishing collaborations and valuing their biodiversity and cultural richness, were more resilient and profitable.
The project aims to carry out training, advice and social innovation actions with the aim of improving the adaptation of participants to the labour market in transition towards a blue economy and promoting the creation of new lines of business.
