Empleaverde program

PROJECT NAME: Seed: training and advice to the agricultural and aquaculture sector to improve their work capacities in sustainability, efficiency and innovation.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is to train and advise workers in the agricultural and aquaculture sector to improve their work skills, training and awareness in resource management, energy efficiency, environmental conservation and eco-innovation.

THEMES: The project addresses various topics, such as: sustainable tourism, sustainable agriculture and livestock, energy saving and efficiency, renewable energies, efficient water management and management, environmental improvement and eco-innovation in industry or company.

DESCRIPTION: Agriculture and fishing in Spain are strategic sectors of great social, territorial, environmental and economic importance, but the growth in energy consumption that it is experiencing has serious negative effects on the competitiveness of products (costs) and on the environment (emissions).

The rational use of energy must be part of all decisions that affect the sector, so it is vitally important to provide sufficient information and support training programmes that improve the skills and knowledge of workers in relation to the use of energy, improving their employability and in turn promoting sustainable development. These programmes will pay special attention to the incorporation of women in this sector (26% of workers) and to promoting knowledge of best practices, new technologies and support mechanisms that facilitate their implementation in a sector that is so traditional but so decisive in Spain.
