OBJECTIVE: To improve the qualification and training of people with intellectual disabilities.
DESCRIPTION: “Surcando Futuro” is a project framed within the Employment Area and the Agro-environmental Area of ADISLAN. Through a strategic training offer, in terms of sustainable and ecological production, it seeks to generate a double impact: on the one hand, to expand the qualification and training of participants, through the acquisition of skills demanded in the green economy; and on the other hand, to promote the promotion of the primary sector, sustainable economy and island biodiversity, helping to rescue farming systems and native ecosystems abandoned in recent decades.
This project proposes 10 face-to-face courses to be developed in 9 months:
– Ecological gardening: xeriscaping.
– Nursery production of plants for xeriscaping.
– Handling and maintenance of small machinery in the agro-environmental sector.
– Organic farming.
– Basic level phytosanitary products handler.
– Personal and social skills for employment.
– Specialization in palm tree work.
– Production of pots and decorative elements with plants using recycled and biodegradable materials.
– Environmental education in ecological community gardens.
– Customer service in direct sales of organic products.
“Surcando Futuro” therefore offers a training program, which besides being a pioneer on the island of Lanzarote, is inclusive and methodologically innovative. As for the subject matter of the courses, it proposes a face-to-face training offer based on the real demands and needs of the sector in Lanzarote, with the idea that participants will acquire knowledge that will make them more competitive.
As for the design of the courses, they are based on a person-centered methodology, through small groups, which allow the individualization of the contents, both theoretical and practical. This makes it possible to adapt to the individual needs and characteristics of the participants, which has a significant impact on the degree of assimilation of the contents, for their subsequent application in the work and personal environment.
