The general objective of the “Sustainable Future” project is to contribute to the creation of women’s businesses as a priority group in the green sector.

The general objective of the “Sustainable Future” project is to contribute to the creation of women’s businesses as a priority group in the green sector.

Based on this objective, different activities and actions focused on the promotion and development of employment in the sector are presented.

The actions will be carried out in Asturias. Madrid and Extremadura, with very different contexts for the development of green employment.

At a technical level, the following activities will be carried out:

  • Promotion and dissemination activities.
  • Organization of R+D+i conferences on innovation in entrepreneurship in the green sector.
  • Individualised advice for the creation of companies.
  • Online training in three specific sectors of the green sector focused on entrepreneurship: sustainable tourism, rehabilitation and sustainable building and carbon footprint.
  • Market studies on the potential of the green sector in Madrid, Asturias and Extremadura.
  • Preparation of an online guide for the creation of green companies in these autonomous communities with the information and procedures necessary for the process.
  • Launch of the awareness campaign “The future belongs to sustainable companies”.

The recipients of the project are women entrepreneurs related to the green sector:

  1. University students and postgraduate students of studies related to the sector (Environmental Sciences, Biology, Forestry Engineering, Forestry Engineering, postgraduate courses in environmental management, management of ecological and sustainable tourism, efficient building and sustainable rehabilitation).
  2. Self-employed women and self-employed workers in the green sector in general (natural environment, corporate social responsibility, energy, atmosphere, water and coasts, R+D+i, environmental education, waste management).
  3. Workers of SMEs and micro-SMEs in the sector (natural environment, corporate social responsibility, energy, atmosphere, water and coasts, R+D+i, environmental education, waste management).

The project will allow training to 60 recipients, although it will reach a total of 2,660 workers. Individual tutorials will be carried out – an average of two per beneficiary – with the aim of creating between two or three companies in the green sector.

In addition, tasks will be carried out to disseminate entrepreneurship and innovation among women related to the green sector and the possibilities of the sector in relation to entrepreneurship and job creation will be analysed.
