PROJECT NAME: Sustaining Us: Sustainable Agriculture as the Socio-Economic and Environmental Skeleton of the Rural Fabric

OBJECTIVES: To train agricultural professionals in sustainable agriculture techniques that allow them to adapt their production model to new green economy markets, thus promoting the socioeconomic and environmental sustainability of rural territories.

THEME: The environmental theme addressed by the project is: Sustainable agriculture and livestock.

DESCRIPTION: Sustentnos consists of 18 actions (training and advice) that, undertaken on a local scale, allow the generation of foci of adaptation to change in three eminently agricultural autonomous communities: Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia and Murcia.

The training will include four topics that bring new markets and initiatives closer to the agricultural world: (1) biodiversity, (2) soil conservation and water management, (3) short ecological marketing channels and (4) land stewardship. As a complement, experimental visits will be made to farms that have already developed these measures. Finally, advice will be given to farmers who decide to start using these techniques.
