The main objective of the project is to maintain the use of resin, through mechanization, as a means of contributing to the conservation of the forest and the socio-cultural development of the rural environment.

More specifically, it is intended to:

  • To promote interest in the future of the resin sector.
  • To learn about the experiences carried out in other geographical areas aimed at the modernisation of extraction.
  • To obtain the necessary information to address the mechanization of resin extraction, improving working conditions and profitability in the sector.

The specific actions planned are the following:

  • Preparation, edition and dissemination of a diagnosis on the resin sector.
  • Bibliographic analysis of existing experiences worldwide and Spanish on this sector, with the support of the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation.
  • Carrying out resin mechanization tests, during two campaigns in the field, in order to evaluate the incidence of certain variables.
