PROJECT NAME: Towards a more sustainable agriculture: techniques for reducing the impacts of irrigation inside and outside the Natura 2000 Network.
OBJECTIVE: The project aims to improve the sustainability of agriculture in the Iberian southeast through training and advice to farmers, technicians and other workers in the sector, promoting a more efficient and environmentally friendly production model, and a reduction in the impacts of intensive agriculture in the environment of the Natura 2000 Network.
THEMES: The project addresses various topics, such as sustainable agriculture and livestock, efficient water management (minimization of pollutants), production of organic products and management, environmental improvement and eco-innovation in the agricultural enterprise through soft practices and inclusion of biodiversity.
DESCRIPTION: Training courses and advice will be carried out for the conservation and promotion of biodiversity, and the inclusion of sustainable practices for soil conservation and the reduction of pollutants derived from agrochemicals, especially nitrates, ensuring compliance with European regulations on nitrates and conservation of riverbeds and biodiversity, the creation of native hedges in agricultural areas and the differentiation of agricultural products through sustainability.
