OBJECTIVE: The objective of the project is to train people with intellectual/functional diversity in the sustainable and ecological production of herbs, trees, flowers, vegetables and fruits, contributing to preserve native species, valorize their seeds and create inclusive green employment.
DESCRIPTION: San Xerome Emiliani, an association of families of people with intellectual/functional diversity from A Guarda (Pontevedra) has been promoting the social and labor inclusion of people with diversity for more than 40 years, encouraging initiatives that allow them to achieve a full life and providing them with real labor options in their territory of reference. Hence the need to propose the XE-mente – Seeds of diversity project, which aims to strengthen the self-esteem, skills and competences of people with intellectual and/or functional diversity, through their training and qualification in sustainable and ecological production of products such as medicinal herbs, trees, flowers, ornamental plants, vegetables and fruits; contributing to the preservation over time of native species through the valorization of their seeds, and to the creation of inclusive green employment.
