To develop a dissemination and awareness-raising plan to highlight the environmental and ethnographic maritime-fishing heritage of Cádiz and Formentera, in order to promote the use of this heritage and good environmental practices. Actions: Development of Audio Guides of the Sea and informative documentaries. Training seminars on the environmental and ethnographic heritage of maritime fisheries. Workshop for the exchange of experiences. Development of an environmental dissemination program for fishing entities, for the empowerment of agents dependent on fishing around environmental and heritage education. Communication and dissemination of the project’s actions. Initial press conference with the actions and final press conference with the results. Coordination, project management, analytical work of priorities, specific objectives and/or strategic plans in which the project is significantly involved.

To develop a dissemination and awareness-raising plan to highlight the environmental and ethnographic maritime-fishing heritage of Cádiz and Formentera, in order to promote the use of this heritage and good environmental practices.

Specific objectives of the project:

To make the maritime-fishing environmental and ethnographic heritage known to the residents and tourists of Cádiz and Formentera. As well as promoting the awareness of civil society and visitors to the spaces, about the conservation of the cultural and natural values of the territory.
Creation of empowerment tools at the service of local agents and entities for the dissemination, enhancement and safeguarding of the environmental, ethnographic and maritime-fishing heritage.
Communicate the actions and results of the project

  • Development of Audio Guides of the Sea and informative documentaries.
  • Training seminars on the environmental and ethnographic heritage of maritime fisheries.
  • Workshop for the exchange of experiences.
  • Development of an environmental dissemination program for fishing entities, for the empowerment of agents dependent on fishing around environmental and heritage education.
  • Communication and dissemination of the project’s actions. Initial press conference with the actions and final press conference with the results.
  • Coordination, project management, analytical work of priorities, specific objectives and/or strategic plans in which the project is significantly involved.
  • Identification of the natural heritage (species, habitat, currents, winds, Marine Protected Areas, Landscape, land-navigation marks). Visibility of the role of women in coastal society.
  • Identification of cultural heritage (fishing gear and pertechos, fishing fleet, netters, boatmen, fishermen, shellfish, streams, salt workers, aquaculture, colla, shipbuilding and repair, pilots, dredger, fish market buyers, auction, ice factory, guild and associations, women in fishing, rituals, cooking and transformation of fisheries, salt flats, language of the sea, lighthouses, traps…).
  • Identification of the different anchoring areas for recreational boats in the two study areas. Including good anchoring practices, ecological buoy areas and the associated natural heritage.
  • Dossier of photographs related to the environmental and ethnographic maritime-fisheries heritage of each of the areas of action, for the preparation of the audio guide and documentary.
  • Dossier of sound testimony files related to the environmental and ethnographic maritime-fisheries heritage of each of the areas of action, for the preparation of the audio guide and documentary.
  • APP audio guide on the environmental and ethnographic maritime-fisheries heritage, as a product for the enhancement of this heritage and the development of sustainable tourism. The platforms enabled for download will be Apple Store and Google Pay, and the mobile operating system versions compatible with the application will be iOS/Android (4.3.1. /6.1.2 / 4.4.3) and later. The PPP will be operational for at least 5 years.
  • A documentary with two separate pieces of 5 minutes each.
  • Two training seminars on heritage based on the Audio Guide. One was held in Cádiz and the other in Formentera, with the participation of local agents, tourism promoters and administrations.
  • Minimum participation objective: 20 people. Live streaming monitoring, enabled on the website of the National Federation of Fishermen’s Guilds (FNCP). Duration: 6 hours. In the event of a COVID situation, the seminar would be held online.
  • Creation of a working group with the tourism administrations for the dissemination of the audio guide and documentaries.
  • Workshop held in Conil with the participation of cultural entities, fishing entities, administration, tourism representatives, and NGOs. Diagnostic tool for the improvement of user governance on the use of the heritage values of the spaces on which action is taken. Minimum objective participation: 15 people. Duration: 6 hours. In the event of a COVID situation, the seminar would be held online.
  • To connect the main actors of the territories at the heritage level and the managers of the 2 areas of action of the project.
  • Design, layout and printing of informative material.
  • Inclusion of the informative material on the website of the National Federation of Fishermen’s Guild.
  • Two training sessions with the fishing entities in the different working territories. 10 participants per session and duration of 3 hours per session. The training sessions will be held online.
  • Two press conferences. Initial press release and Press release at the end of the project with the results. Minimum participation objective: 15 people.
  • In collaboration with tourism and institutional agents, the results of the project, the documentary video, the APP and the information posters in the areas of Formentera and Cádiz will be disseminated.
  • An elaborate Story Map.
  • Creation of a registered general logo, as a publication of the actions and results of the project on the Internet and social networks.
  • Face-to-face and telematic meetings held, in which our project is involved:Directive 2008/56/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of marine environment policy (Marine Strategy Framework Directive).
