The main objective is to establish a relationship between the intensity of longline pressure and the impact on benthic habitats in order to develop management measures according to the real effects of this gear. Three aspects will be developed specifically. On the one hand, the improvement in the spatial estimation of the bottom longline effort, with a vocation for transfer to the Autonomous Communities that collaborate in the project. On the other hand, the carrying out of a research campaign with a professional fishing boat for the evaluation of the impact of longlining and future mitigation strategies. And finally, a communication strategy will be implemented based on the collaboration Science – Sector – Management – Society.
