The overall objective of the project is to promote the conservation and sustainability of socio-economic activities in the marine SPAs of Galicia.
Specific objectives:
1.Reduce the amount of waste in coastal areas and the sea
2.Raise awareness in the fishing sector about sustainable
practices 3.Increase knowledge about the biodiversity of RN 2000
4.Train the fishing sector in the economic sustainability of their businesses

– Six clean-ups on shellfish bottoms:
– Six beach clean-ups: 20 beaches.

– Three training sessions on economic sustainability aimed at marine professionals (fishermen, shellfish gatherers, neteiras and bateeiros).
– Two videos made:
– A guide to good practices and measures to prevent the accidental capture of seabirds in the fisheries of Galician marine SPAs.
– Two infographics on methods to prevent accidental capture of birds in the fisheries of the Galician marine SPAs and tips for rescuing birds.
– A multidisciplinary study to quantify the value of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
– More than 20 entities that have participated/collaborated in the project
– More than 130,000 social media impacts
– More than 230 impacts in digital media, written press, radio and television.
