Improvement of the effectiveness of the Marine Reserves of Fishing Interest (RMIP), based on a review of the most favourable practices and through a classification of the PMR in Spain according to their biophysical particularities of governance, management and results obtained.
I. Promote compliance with regulations through mechanisms based on co-responsibility and trust between the administration and the users of marine reserves and more efficient monitoring systems.
II. Increase the effort in communication and dissemination actions of the benefits of marine reserves, and improve their visibility in society in general and before political leaders.
III. To develop a common system of indicators for monitoring all marine reserves. This monitoring should include fisheries and biodiversity conservation aspects, but also very importantly the social and economic effects of marine reserves.
IV. To promote networking, forming a network of experts at a technical level that facilitates the exchange of experiences, cases of good practice, research results, etc.
