The objective of the STELARMED project is to expand the study area of the previous project, STELARDELTA, now focusing the effort on two species of terns (Kentish and common) and two of gulls (Audouin’s and yellowleg), with the aim of carrying out an analysis at the metapopulation level for species whose biology and ecology mean that their distribution and abundance vary from year to year and do not stick to the limits of the SPA. In this way, it is intended to quantitatively and qualitatively assess the impact of variables related to the state of fish stocks on the distribution of birds (based on distribution models) and to describe how this relationship has evolved in recent decades.
