As a result of the project, an area of 171,170m2 is expected to be renaturalized.
A very complete Green and Blue Infrastructure Plan is proposed and highlights the clear identification of the problems associated with its urban development, prioritizing the heat island effect and the disconnection with natural elements such as the Guadalquivir River or the Sierra de Andújar, and proposing connectivity both peripherally and within the municipality. The project also has great social support.
The following actions are proposed: 1) Closure of the peri-urban green belt; 2) Urban green permeability, to physically and ecologically connect three elements of local green infrastructure (connection of the banks of the Guadalquivir with the urban centre; green connection with livestock roads and rural roads and rejuvenation and diversification of street trees; 3) Renaturation and conservation of rural-river-natural green infrastructures: improvement of the hydraulic profile, renaturation and pedestrian path on the banks of a stream; renaturation of degraded areas on the right bank of the Guadalquivir; renaturalization of degraded areas in rural areas of Andújar, etc. and 4) Renaturalization and enhancement of the urban green grid, through the creation of urban forests and the installation of wildlife refuges.
Ecological reactivation of the local green infrastructure of Andújar: urban, rural, natural and river landscape (ERDF IVLA Andújar)
