As a result of the project, an area of 81,899m2 is expected to be renaturalized.
It highlights, as a differentiating element with respect to other proposals, the preparation of a Plan with a more specific focus on the renaturalization of schoolyards and their environment. In addition, the durability of the actions is framed in the Urban Agenda of San Bartolomé de Tirajana approved by the plenary session of the city council in December 2024.
The project proposes the following actions: 1) Creation of climate shelters in the playgrounds of 3 schools located in areas of social and environmental vulnerability, 2) Renaturalization of a degraded urban space, turning a non-functional plot into a green area by generating islands of freshness as nodes of biodiversity and climate refuge, transforming it into an urban park with a planned structure, accessible and adapted to the local climate,3) Renaturation of the slope annexed to the Maspalomas botanical park by means of landscape bioengineering techniques, to improve the connectivity of the municipal green infrastructure and reduce erosion problems.
