Live Carob. Multifunctional Dryland Agriculture in the Campo de Cartagena.

FEDER

The project aims to recover and enhance the dryland of Campo de Cartagena by promoting carob cultivation and its demand. To this end, actions will be carried out related to the planting of carob trees on private farms and on municipal land, promoting multifunctional landscapes and regenerative agriculture. In addition, a bioproduct bank, an identifying brand and the Dryland Landscape Office will be created, complementing these measures with a boost to policies to favour rainfed farming at the regional level. With all this, the aim is to achieve results related to restoration and management of rainfed land (60 ha on private farms, 30 ha with grazing, 22 ha municipal), transfer and replicability (replicator farms of 2 ha), and bioeconomy/tourism (Dryland Landscape Office).
