PRTR Call for Proposals Project

This project is made up of a group made up of: Pyratex, an entity that is dedicated to developing and manufacturing innovative and sustainable fabrics from natural and functional materials. Bobo Choses, a Spanish fashion brand that stands out for its creative, sustainable and ethical approach. They present a project focused on increasing the incorporation of recycled materials from their own waste in Bobo Choses garments. To this end, Pyratex will be responsible for carrying out the activities dedicated to the research of waste and the carrying out of tests by incorporating a new “seacell” spinning in the fabrics (innovative and sustainable textile material made from regenerated cellulose mixed with seaweed), replacing cotton as a virgin raw material. Bobo Choses will be in charge of assigning the new materials, the creation of the new garments, the process of monitoring, quality control and testing and improvement of the traceability of the new products.

The main objective of this project is to increase the incorporation of recycled materials in garments through eco-design to replace cotton as a virgin raw material. It aims to achieve this by scaling up the mechanical recycling circuit of Bobo Chores by expanding it to other innovative fibres of cellulosic origin (provided by Pyratex). The project aims to increase the presence of recycled materials from own cutting waste in the main collection to 23% by 2027 and to increase the operability of the resource reuse circuit by 63% by the same year.
