BI-RE-PAPAH focuses on river and landscape restoration actions that will favor the natural processes of the Huerva River, favoring the conservation and development of biodiversity in urban environments, adapting these spaces to universal accessibility and guaranteeing public safety. It is planned to renaturalize two stretches of river and surrounding areas, which are currently very degraded, improving their ecological condition and their capacity to provide ecosystem services. The actions will contribute to pollution prevention and control, reducing diffuse pollution. The widening of the channel will improve drainage capacity and mitigate the risk of flooding. The restoration of the riparian structure will facilitate the adaptation of the river environment to climate change. The actions are based on a circular economy approach and a balanced distribution between men and women at all stages of the project.
