PRTR Call for Proposals Project

RedeVerde seeks to promote the current model of urban transformation in Pontevedra by prioritising the environmental dimension through the renaturalisation of urban space, the increase of biodiversity and the recovery and connectivity of maritime and river space.

The project includes five interventions distributed throughout the municipality and focused mainly on the renaturalization of maritime-river spaces linked to the Gafos River that have been occupied by gray infrastructures during the last century and that will contribute to increasing the resilience of the city against floods and fires. The beginning of the burial of the Gafos river in the urban area stands out, which will be completed in future municipal interventions.

  • Recovery and ecological restoration of the underground urban section of the Gafos River and its surroundings (Section I).
  • Ecological and landscape improvement of the surroundings of the fairgrounds and inclusion of sustainable urban drainage systems.
  • Ecological, landscape and biodiversity restoration of the María Vinyals Park.
  • Ecological restoration and improvement of the biodiversity of the Alba marsh.
