Reduction of virgin raw material through by-product recycling processes from the Antex plant (Ecotex)

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The project presented by ANGLES TEXTIL, S.A., a textile group specialising in the manufacture of synthetic yarns, is developed in Anglés (Girona) at the applicant’s facilities and implements chemical recycling techniques for the by-products and waste from the ANTEX production process, such as polyamide and polyester, in order to manufacture new yarn while reducing the consumption of virgin raw material. The process consists of three phases: adaptation of by-products and waste, chemical treatment and adaptation of the recycled polymer to manufacture new yarn. In addition, the civil works of a 4000 m² warehouse are contemplated for the location of the chemical recycling system and the preparation of by-products.

1,591,746.80 euros

The investment project aims to reduce dependence on virgin polymers by implementing an advanced chemical recycling system. This process will allow the transformation of by-products and textile waste generated by the entity in its production process (polyamide and polyester) into high-quality polymers for the production of yarn. The correct development of the project will allow a minimum reduction in purchases of virgin material, which translates into about 1,000 tons of polymer.
