Calahorra lives with its back to the Ebro due to the lack of connectivity between the urban area and the river, which in turn implies a lack of use of this ecosystem service. The area has suffered a progressive deterioration due to the loss of vegetation cover on the banks of the river and uncontrolled discharges. The project pursues the fluvial restoration of the final section of the Cidacos River. It will improve and recover the riverside structure, water quality and reforestation and promote the circular economy and the generation of green employment derived from the promotion of nature tourism.
Some of the actions that are contemplated are:
River restoration of the final stretch of the Cidacos River in Calahorra through nature-based solutions (REVIVE CIDACOS)
