Adapta Agroecology

MITECO

This initiative of the Spanish Society of Organic Agriculture (SEAE) contributes to the adaptation of agriculture to climate change through agroecological production and marketing practices. The project ‘Agroecology and Adaptation to Climate Change. “Adapt Agroecology” Generation and dissemination of agroecological practices that adapt to climate change’ has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation through its call for grants. To this end, different actions have been carried out in which more than 500 people have participated, including researchers, technicians and farmers.

The XXVI EEAS Technical Conference on Agroecological Innovation and Climate Change, an international technical conference, allowed for debate and exchange of results of experiences and research to address the consequences of climate change.

With the aim of training technicians and farmers, 2 short thematic courses were also held for technicians and conventional farmers on agroecological practices for adaptation to CC in Mediterranean and Atlantic climates, as well as 5 demonstration days with consumers visiting agroecological farms and learning about the adaptive management to climate change that is carried out in them.

Part of the information obtained in the previous actions was reflected in the Study-Diagnosis of Agroecological Practices for Adaptation to Climate Change , which compiles the main experiences and results of these adaptive practices at the national level.
