Air-Health Alliance

MITECO

The aim is to raise awareness, train and promote public awareness of the health risks related to air quality and air pollution, as well as to influence lifestyle habits that affect these aspects.

The aim is to raise awareness, train and promote public awareness of the health risks related to air quality and air pollution, as well as to influence lifestyle habits that affect these aspects.

The project proposes the creation of an alliance that allows public and private entities to join forces in raising awareness and knowledge of how air quality is the responsibility of all citizens, and what its impact on health is.

To this end, different activities will be carried out in order to educate the population in healthy habits from the point of view of air quality conservation, looking for the most appropriate means of dissemination and that publicize the health risks of air pollution.

The alliance will be structured around different scientific societies and institutions related to air quality and health. It will be the vehicle for organising the proposed initiatives, which must be aimed at achieving air quality standards that reduce negative effects on human health and the environment.

To this end, the entities or public administrations involved will adopt consensual measures that will be widely disseminated.

Specific objectives include:

  • Promote an Air-Health Alliance where the main agents involved in this field are in contact.
  • Raise awareness of the impact of air quality on health.
  • Create healthy habits in the context of air pollution.
  • Achieve air quality levels that reduce significant negative effects on human health.

The activities to be carried out are:

  1. “Decalogue Air-Health Alliance”. A consensual decalogue of the environment and its impact on health will be defined, through telematic contact between the entities involved.
  2. Training course for the media “Air quality and health”.
  3. Celebration of the conference “Impact of air quality on health”.
  4. “Air-Health Alliance” Habits Guide, which will include measures to raise awareness of personal responsibility in air quality and healthy habits.
