The purpose of this project is to carry out an analysis of mobility in the main Spanish metropolitan areas by monitoring a series of key indicators on supply and demand of public transport, as well as other socioeconomic indicators.

The main innovation of this initiative is the proposal of mobility measures or strategies to improve air quality in cities, at the local level and at a more generic level. To this end, the following line of action has been outlined:

• Selection of indicators for the analysis of metropolitan mobility: definition and units of measurement
• Preparation of the data template and collection of information from metropolitan areas
• Verification that the data provided is correct
• Preliminary analysis of the data and evaluation of results
• Preparation of the diagnosis of mobility in Spanish metropolitan areas (base year 2012)
• Proposal of measures to improve air quality in cities based on the diagnosis obtained
• Preparation of the final document
• Organization of a technical conference for the dissemination of the results obtained- Dissemination of the results via website
