Biodiversity Foundation Awards for Environmental Leadership, Innovation and Communication

The Biodiversity Foundation Awards aim to recognise the work of all those people and organisations that, with their work, contribute to the sustainable development of the rural and fishing environment, as well as to the conservation and knowledge of natural heritage and biodiversity. The winners were announced on 15 October at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.

The Biodiversity Foundation Awards aim to recognise the work of all those people and organisations that, with their work, contribute to the sustainable development of the rural and fishing environment, as well as to the conservation and knowledge of natural heritage and biodiversity. The winners were announced on 15 October at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.

The awards encourage entrepreneurs and creators to publicise their environmental projects: “If you have undertaken an economic activity that contributes to maintaining the ecological values of your territory; if you belong to an organization that is developing a project linked to the conservation of the environment; if through a photograph, a documentary, a report or a literary work you have managed to capture the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable development. You are a candidate for the Biodiversity Foundation Awards”.

The categories in competition are:

  • Leadership and innovation: Entrepreneurs; Women in rural and fishing areas; Innovation in action.
  • Communication and creation: Photography; Report (written press and online media/radio and television); Documentary and short film; Literary creation.
