It is a training and communication programme of good practices in coastal municipalities with adequate environmental management.

Through this project, work is being done on information, awareness, education and environmental training in coastal municipalities. In this way, the aim is to achieve accessible, clean, safe beaches and marinas that have adequate environmental management.

The “Blue Flag” Programme was created in 1985 by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) in France and in 1987 it was extended to the European Community. The Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) is the NGO responsible for the development of the FEE Programs in Spain.

As part of the initiative, the “Blue Flag” awards are given to those sustainable and environmentally friendly Spanish beaches and ports.
