Blue Trails 2018

MITECO

The Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) was a beneficiary in the 2018 Call for Grants with the project “Blue Trails 2018″, which aims to maintain and consolidate these itineraries as a stimulus for the implementation of environmental education activities and the conservation and recovery of coastal spaces.

The Blue Trails are awards given by ADEAC to coastal trails that cross or start from beaches awarded with the Blue Flag in recognition of the good management of the municipalities in terms of sustainable tourism and environmental values. In 2018, ADEAC awarded 72 trails belonging to 9 Autonomous Communities. This year a Blue Path located in fresh water has been awarded for the first time, specifically in Badajoz. The entity monitors the trails through inspections to ensure compliance with the established award criteria. The town councils of the different award-winning municipalities provide information on the trails that is reflected on the project website and in the interpretation guide of the blue trails, including landmarks of interest and cartography.
