A project that gives continuity to the tasks of surveillance and monitoring of bear populations in the Cantabrian Mountains, as well as to conservation and environmental awareness activities in the area.

A project that gives continuity to the tasks of surveillance and monitoring of bear populations in the Cantabrian Mountains, as well as to conservation and environmental awareness activities in the area.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the conservation of the brown bear of the Cantabrian Mountains by carrying out actions included in the National Strategy for the Conservation of the Cantabrian Brown Bear approved in 1999.

More specifically, it is intended to:

• Contribute to the elimination of bear deaths caused by people.
• Support the monitoring of the Cantabrian bear population.
• Promote information on the species and environmental education and training activities.
