The aim of the project is to reactivate the Biosphere Reserve to turn it into an instrument of sustainable development.
The Ancares Leoneses Biosphere Reserve was created in 2006 and, since then, its development has been mainly at the political-administrative level. The management body was created and the Ciudad de la Energía Foundation was appointed as manager. However, it is necessary that, associated with this process, citizen participation is set in motion. It is the objective of this project and part of the Biosphere Reserve’s overall strategy for sustainable development.
Specifically, the purpose of the initiative is to reactivate the Biosphere Reserve, turning it into a real instrument of sustainable development. To this end, a process of social participation will be launched, through the establishment of contacts with social agents and the population in general, in addition to carrying out social revitalization activities.
