The Centre for Ecological Research and Forest Applications (CREAF), with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, has carried out the project “ISACC TorDelta (Involving society in adaptation to climate change in the Tordera Delta)”.
For 9 months, local actors, scientists and different public administrations actively participated in 10 face-to-face sessions of the ISACC TorDelta project, managing to develop a common vision on the future of the Tordera delta, supported by 7 strategic objectives that include 18 specific recommendations for its achievement, as well as 2 transversal lines of consensus. The ISACC TorDelta project held 3 seminars and 2 workshops, where, thanks to the participation of a total of 185 people, a multidisciplinary debate was achieved for the realization at local level of the objectives of the different European and international directives on water management, biodiversity and integrated coastal zone management. as well as for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The technical support offered by the ISACC TorDelta project facilitated the preparation of a constituent document for the Delta and Lower Tordera Board approved by the municipal plenary sessions of the 4 municipalities of the Delta: Malgrat de Mar, Palafolls, Blanes and Tordera.
