The main objective of the project is to contribute to the conservation of the existing biodiversity in the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) of Monte el Valle, Sierra Escalona and Altaona, in the Region of Murcia.

The main objective of the project is to contribute to the conservation of the existing biodiversity in the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) of Monte el Valle, Sierra Escalona and Altaona, in the Region of Murcia.

To this end, work is being done to promote environmental awareness and the involvement of landowners, social agents and the population, in order to develop a more sustainable management of the farms located in the SPA and contribute to conserving the biodiversity of this space.

On the other hand, it is intended to raise awareness among citizens about the existing environmental values in the SPA of Monte El Valle and Sierra de Escalona and Altaona and involve them in the conservation of this natural space.

Thus, the following actions are launched:

• Dissemination of the project through its presentation to the media, preparation of informative and educational material and website.
• Implementation of the land stewardship programme, for which an informative campaign will be launched to promote this tool.
• Holding of a conference on sustainable development of the SPA.
• Preparation and distribution of a manual of good environmental practices in the SPA.
• Application of Sustainable Management Plans for the farms of the SPA.
• Implementation of an environmental education campaign for schools, the general population and specific groups.
