The project aims to reach consensus and adapt the Management Program of the Sierra Gorda de Querétaro Biosphere Reserve, in Mexico, and to disseminate the ecosystem services of the Reserve, as well as to promote the ecotourism products and services of its communities.

The project aims to reach consensus and adapt the Management Program of the Sierra Gorda de Querétaro Biosphere Reserve, in Mexico, and to disseminate the ecosystem services of the Reserve, as well as to promote the ecotourism products and services of its communities.

More specifically, it aims to:

• Sensitize local communities about the need to agree on and adapt the new Management Program of the Reserve and recategorize the status of a Natural Protected Area.
• To promote sustainable ecotourism in the Sierra Gorda and its areas of influence, promoting the products, tourist and ecosystem services of the Reserve.

The actions of this project are detailed below:

• Implementation of the Environmental Education Program for the 2008-2009 school year (field trips, organization of cleaning and solid waste separation campaigns, workshops, exhibitions, community meetings, among others).
• Training actions for the team of promoters on environmental issues.
• Design and edition of informative materials.
• Dissemination of the project in different media and distribution of informative brochures and actions on the internet.
