More specifically, it is intended to:
- To determine the size, location and reproductive parameters of the population of the species in Mallorca.
- Establish the use of the territory of the juvenile and adult population, identifying the most important areas for the species.
- Identify and characterize areas and localities that are particularly dangerous for red kites.
- Reduce the unnatural mortality of the species.
The specific actions planned are the following:
- Location of breeding pairs and their nests.
- Obtaining reproductive parameters.
- Marking of specimens in nests.
- Capture and marking of adult and juvenile specimens.
- Copy tracking using conventional telemetry.
- Tracking of specimens using the GPS system.
- Tracking of specimens by visual identification.
- Analysis of land use.
- Location of casualties.
- Diagnosis of electrocution risk.
- Location and characterization of the areas of greatest danger for the species.
- Public dissemination of the problem of poisoning.
- Coordination with the Species Protection Service.
