The main objective of the project is to develop a basic tool for territorial and environmental management whose purpose is to ensure the conservation and development of the chestnut tree in the Las Médulas Natural Monument.

Specifically, the aim is to:
- Carry out an exhaustive inventory of the chestnut trees existing in the Natural Monument.
- Carry out an updated and realistic census of existing farms, their owners and those responsible for them.
- The design of a model for the organisation of ownership and production that maximises the profitability of this forest crop and its sustainable management.
- Develop training and information work on the project, its phases and other aspects of the chestnut tree.
