In addition, progress will be made in the study of the disease that affects the autillos of the city of Madrid, designing control measures to fight against the pathology. The basic knowledge of its ecology, still to be studied, will also be increased, especially those related to its conservation.

One hundred nest boxes will be installed, of which approximately half will be occupied. Feeding, toxicological, microbiological, virological, immunological and parasitological studies will be carried out to find out the symptoms, origin, causes and routes of infection suffered by these animals in Madrid. The next step will be to treat the symptoms in the affected specimens. To control the disease in the natural environment, control measures will be designed.

In order to raise awareness among the population, the Night of the Scops Owl and a press campaign will be held to disseminate the importance of this species and the environmental benefits provided by its population.
