To achieve the restoration of the area, an old gravel pit located on the banks of the Henares river that is located within the SCI Riberas del Henares, it is planned:
- Actions to achieve recreational, educational and leisure use, consisting mainly of earthmoving and stabilisation of slopes aimed at recovering areas altered as a result of gravel extraction. An area will be delimited to turn it into a small car park and picnic areas with barbecues will also be integrated for the use of visitors.
- Activities for the conservation of nature and ecological refuge, consisting of creating a green barrier that prevents the road from being visible from the place, recreating a garden with plant species compatible with the riverside ecosystem and conditioning an old electricity transformer of the gravel pit to turn it into a bird observatory.
- Creation of a vegetation cover to control erosion for the future placement of outdoor sports sections and extra contribution of land to guarantee the establishment of plants in the area.
- Channelling of irrigation runoff water aimed at preventing the dragging of vegetation and soil in the event of possible torrential rains and cleaning of the ditch to prevent the overflow of water on the access road. Pools will be built using boulders to facilitate the settlement of existing otter families.
