The main objective of the project is to improve the ecological status of the Sils pond, in the province of Girona.

The main objective of the project is to improve the ecological status of the Sils pond, in the province of Girona.

It is intended to:

• Eradicate or significantly decrease exotic wildlife populations that create a negative impact on the pond ecosystem.
• To know the current ecological state of the pond and canals in the environment, as well as that after the action to eliminate exotic fauna.
• Improve the quality of the pond water by installing a tilting gate that prevents the entry of water contaminated by rainwater from housing estates and agricultural scrapping.

The specific actions are as follows:

• Eradicate or significantly decrease the carp population.
• Decrease the American red crab population.
• Eradicate or significantly decrease the Florida tortoise population.
• To know the assessment of the ecological status of the pond resulting from the application of the measures described.
