MITECO

  • The project seeks to digitize, standardize and publish wildlife tracking data, guaranteeing open access and improving its interoperability with national and international platforms.
  • It will work with citizen science data and biodiversity monitoring from programs such as the Catalan Butterfly Monitoring Scheme, the Monitoring of Common Micromammals in Spain and BatMonitoring.

The project aims to promote the digitalisation of already consolidated citizen science networks to improve the transmission of knowledge of natural heritage and biodiversity.

It has these specific goals:

  • Validation, standardization and publication of data from the Wildlife Monitoring Programs coordinated by the BiBIO Research Team.
  • Improved interoperability and access to data from monitoring programmes.

 

  • Validation, standardization and publication of data from the Catalan Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (CBMS).
  • Validation, standardization and publication of data from the Spanish Common Micromammals Monitoring Program (SEMICE).
  • Validation, standardization and publication of Bat Monitoring Program data.
  • Development of a data validation module.
  • Creation of APIs to facilitate access to data from wildlife monitoring programs.
