With this project, the University of Cordoba seeks to have information on the impact on vegetation (potential migration of vegetation cover or changes associated with its phenology) of the foreseeable hydrological change for snow and to integrate this into a network platform of access for national park managers, scientists and the general public.
With the proposed and executed methodology, the following have been identified:8 types of land uses associated with vegetation cover in the Sierra Nevada National and Natural Park. The study has been carried out in 2 provinces of Andalusia and a total of 6 case studies have been defined (combinations between 3 different land uses in 2 regions). A total of 10 Eco-hydrological Indicators, plus 2 variables of interest have been analyzed in a historical period that covers 54 years and a future period that analyzes 75 years. The study has been complemented with 144 Landsat images and 78 Sentinel-2 images. Its results have been disseminated in 2 international congresses with a reach of 300 people. Its implementation on a tracking platform will facilitate the transfer for widespread use.
